MEET THE TEAM AT CAR CRAFT
Marco, Owner of Car Craft
Marco's father opened the shop in 1985. He was 9 years old at the time, and although he was young, he always had a passion for cars. Throughout high school, he spent time at the shop (probably creating more work for his father than helping!) sweeping up and learning about the trade. In 1994 Marco headed off to Chico State where he received a degree in Journalism with an option in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing. He spent his summers and winter breaks at the shop, helping his father. Upon graduation, Marco became a licensed Real Estate agent and began a career in the Tri-Valley Area. He set up an office upstairs in the shop and ran his real estate business and continued to help out at the shop. In 2009 Marco's father was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, which is a form of Leukemia. He began intense chemo treatments at Stanford University and was given 22 months to live. Since 2009 he has been running the shop and recently took over, so his parents could retire and enjoy life. Marco looks forward to continuing the legacy his father has built in the East Bay! Thanks for all the support!
Gerardo, Auto Body Technician
Gerardo moved to California when he was 17 years old. He began working at a shop in Richmond sweeping floors. A year later he was hired at another shop to prepare the vehicles before being painted, and he also began to learn how to do bodywork. As the year went on, he began to realize he was very good and efficient at doing bodywork and decided to learn how to paint. After 3 years in the business, he knew how to repair a vehicle from start to finish. He then began looking for a journeyman position. Shortly after in 1988, he met Fernando, the owner of Car Craft, and that’s where he has been ever since. Gerardo recently celebrated his 27th year anniversary at Car Craft! He has really enjoyed helping and watching the business evolve. He looks forward to helping the next generation reach their goals!
